The Knowledge Technology (KT) Cluster is one of the research clusters in MIMOS BERHAD. The focus of this cluster is in research and development on Intelligent Software Components for the purpose of deploying Intelligent Software Applications for the local and global industries. Specifically, the R & D activities are mostly focused on various semantic technologies and are carried out based on industrial needs. These components are deployed via MIMOS Semantic Technology Platform.

Some of the industrial sectors that take advantage of MIMOS Semantic Technology Platform include agriculture, finance (Islamic), bio-diversity, logistic, education, aqua-diversity, health, manufacturing, government, government, environmental, legal as well as services.

WHY THE NEED FOR ‘KNOWLEDGE TECHNOLOGY’

The amount of information available is already vast and increasing daily. With a growing number of features for innovation in technology, each contributing a new need for analysis, technology forecasting has become increasingly challenging. Thus, the need of knowledge technology across all industries to gain competitive edge to help them compete in the intense market. This is the bottom line – if we have problems in finding knowledge now, then how will we cope when we have zillibytes of information in the future. The need for knowledge technologies will be as critical as ever.

On top of that, It also complements national agenda & aspiration by driving and providing the catalyst knowledge based economy by leveraging on knowledge technologies and ICT.
