Working in MIMOS is fun and challenging for researcher like me. Here, I am given the opportunity to do in-depth research in my field and turn them into commercial products. In addition, I am exposed to experts in my field through the international collaboration that MIMOS had engaged with. A clear research track had excited me to continue my career as a researcher here.

As I have been in the IT field for the past 10 years, I have always wanted to contribute to the nation and since MIMOS, the leading Research and Development Agency in the country had an opening, it was the practical decision since that it could correlate my efforts and the nations interest together.

When I first came in to MIMOS, I was briefed about our 8 Satria 1 Leadership Core Values – my division had the initiative called “Satria with Me” that carries a pocket calendar of satria values along with your id card everywhere. We constantly are reminded to perform the satria values within our work, not as a separate initiative. We are urged to demonstrate the values in us which are reflected in our work as well.

I believe Satria 1 Leadership Core Values bounds us together as a Mimosian -brings us to the same page, where with these values practiced and the behaviors we’ve shown ,we can then achieve our vision to be a premier applied research centre in frontier technologies, globally”

When it comes to career opportunity, I would like to say that MIMOS provides a great stepping stone for those who like to aspire in the R&D industry. Since MIMOS emphasizes greatly on competency development, I have the opportunity to further equip myself with numerous skill sets and knowledge which in turn provides a way up the ladder and at the same time I can pass on the same knowledge to my peers.

MIMOS has excellent facilities such as Nursery cum Day Care Centre for working parents to feel at ease as their children is being taken care by dedicated teachers. Furthermore with a fully equipped gymnasium, tennis courts and volleyball courts it provides the staff with after office hour activities to let loose steam.

Joining MIMOS is a dream come true. I aimed to be part of MIMOS since I know the existence of this one and only agency in Malaysia that focus solely on R&D in ICT. With the ambition of its management to steer the employee to contribute to our nation with new and enhanced technology and to become leader of R&D in Malaysia, it captured my heart to become part of the contributor.

When MIMOS offered me to join them, I did not think twice. Leaving all the benefits and a high paying job that I enjoyed for the past 10 years, I joined MIMOS with the spirit and desire to bring the nation to a step higher in R&D. I have not looked back and now enjoy contributing to the nation and at the same time gaining experiences, benefits, and career enhancement and specialisation which I will never had a chance to have if I rejected the offer from MIMOS few years ago. And that is the reason I chose MIMOS and it will be the reason for me to keep on working here as long as it takes.
